About GDI

A non-profit subsidiary of Purdue University, PARI-GDI partners with faculty, students, and staff to collaborate with primary stakeholders in lower- and middle-income countries to co-create solutions to achieve sustainable, measurable, and equitable impact.

Culture and Values:

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility
We value every team member’s and partner’s perspective. We welcome the expertise and input from every group that is represented by our team members and partners.

Engagement
We leverage our Purdue University affiliation and engage with faculty, staff, and students. We seek to partner with entities with whom we can make a positive difference in the world.

Collaboration
We are collaborative with Purdue faculty and those outside of our organization to embrace a shared purpose and mission and to encourage interdisciplinary strategies and ideas. Everyone has unique ideas and experience to contribute. We seek assistance and request feedback. We listen.

Innovation
PARI-GDI is structured to make applying for and receiving funding for applied research-based projects easier for Purdue faculty. Our innovative approach enables our team to work more quickly and efficiently within Purdue’s framework to maximize our ability to assist with urgent and critical needs of primary stakeholders. We engage with primary stakeholders to explore new approaches, share insights from applied research, and stay informed on leading practices so that our work is relevant and achieves sustainable, regenerative impact.

Learning
We are committed to creating an environment of continuous learning. We foster a safe environment and promote open communication to enable individual and group learning where everyone is comfortable speaking out. We ask hard questions without fear and are open to experimentation. We engage in critical reflection and regularly review what did and did not work.

Impact
We win grants from USAID and other funding organizations to assist in addressing urgent, complex, and systemic needs. We embrace human centered design to achieve quality, evidence-based, regenerative outcomes to promote social justice, equity, and improve the planet.

Synergy
We embrace our mission. We share ownership, accountability, and support one another to create solutions to address systemic needs. We are humble and kind, and respectful of each other’s personal and professional needs. We care about each other, will be positive, and remain adaptive because change is inevitable.
